The North County Trailway is one of my favorite places to relax, unwind or to get a great outdoor workout. The beauty and serenity of the bike bath is not to be missed. Whether you go alone, with friends or family or even with your dog, the trail can be enjoyed by everyone.
We are truly blessed to have the bike path going though out town. There have been many times I’ve been on the trail alone for long stretches enjoying the sound of the birds in the trees and various forest creatures scampering through the leaves. I’ve seen an occasional deer or two strolling by as well as rabbits, turtles, chipmunks and an occasional frog or small snake.
During the long summer days, after a hard day at work, it is great to put on my rollerblades and head to the trail for some laps down the span between Rt 6 and Mt. Hope Road and Baldwin Place. On the weekends, my family and I like to hit the trail with our bikes. Bike riding is not only fun and great exercise, but it gives us the opportunity to spend quality time together outdoors.
Every inch on the trail is beautiful. There are plenty of benches to stop along the way and sit back and relax or have a picnic. What’s so great about the trail is that you can go for miles and miles or for short bouts. There are plenty of places to park, I’ve listed some places below.
So get out and enjoy the trail!
