The Columbus Day Parade sponsored by The Italian American Club of Mahopac takes place on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 2:30pm, rain or shine.
Before or after the parade, head over to the Mahopac Chamber Community Park (corner of Route 6 and Route 6N) for the Street Festival sponsored by the Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce, which provides a wonderful community-oriented day for kids and adults alike. The Street Festival is open from 11am to 5pm, rain or shine.
The food court will be filled with local caterers, restaurants and chamber members selling a wide variety of food (especially the saugage and peppers made by the Italian American Club). The afternoon offers many activities, most of them free or at a nonimal charge. These include a climbing wall, crafts, and inflatable rides for the children. There is also a special children’s tent featuring games and face painting. In the gazebo, local musicians will perform throughout the day.

Want to march in the Parade? The Putnam County Columbus Day Festivities Committee welcomes additions to the long list of marchers in the parade. If you have a float, antique cars, a band, etc., they would be happy to place you in the lineup.
