The Putnam Symphony Orchestra’s Regional Talent Search
The Putnam Symphony Orchestra is conducting a regional talent search, and is looking for qualified musicians for a performance on Sunday, May 2 at 3 pm. The performance will take place at the Brewster High School on Foggintown Road off of Farm to Market Road, approximately one half mile north of Route 312.
This talent search is open to all qualified musicians with an interest in performance. Musicians who are interested in this opportunity to perform with the Putnam Symphony Orchestra as it completes its 33rd season should contact Christine Smith, the conductor, at 845-228-4167. Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, February 3 and are weekly from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at the Brewster CV Starr Intermediate School. The deadline for entry in this talent search is Monday, February 1, but positions can fill quickly and musicians should contact the conductor as soon as possible.
All musicians who are capable of playing the scheduled repertoire are encouraged to audition. There are no age restrictions, and our musicians currently range in age from 13 to 82. Members of the orchestra include students, avocational adults, music teachers, retired professionals, and professionals.
