Farm Fun Together
Glynwood Farm, located on Route 301 in Cold Spring, New York is home to all kinds of animals—cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, horses, and a donkey—as well as hayfields, a small orchard, and vegetable and flower gardens. All of which equals endless fascination for toddlers and their caregivers. Spring is a great time for families and kids at Glynwood as they begin their six-week series with Farm Educator Carolyn Llewellyn. Ms. Llewellyn will have you and your child meeting the animals, learning about them, and strolling the beautiful gardens and watching the flowers bloom and vegetable plants grow.
Each week you will visit with different animals and learn more about how farms produce food and materials that we all need. The program is geared for children aged 18 months to 3 years and all children must attend with their caregivers. Ms. Llewellyn has worked with children on farms since 1999 and is the mother of a two-year-old farm girl whose father is Glynwood’s Head Gardener.
Participants can attend classes individually or sign up for the series. Classes are limited to 12 children, and each caregiver may bring up to two children.
