Putnam County:  Veterans Memorial Park

Veterans Memorial Park in Carmel is a great place to go and bring the whole family (well, except for the dog).   The children’s playground was designed for kids of all physcial abilities and has enough equipment to keep them amused while you sit back and relax on the well-manicured lawn.  During the summer, the beach is open to swimmers of all ages while a life guard is on duty.  There are plenty of picnic tables and barbeque grills, and the Park allows group gatherings with a permit – a great place to plan a family reunion, anniversary, or birthday party.  The park also has basketball and beach volleyball courts, clean bathrooms and hiking trails for all levels of fitness.  Maps and additional information is available at the park office.
